the stillery bar country music live performers line dancing

Feeling so happy after a weekend spent with one of my best friends! We haven’t seen each other since June of last year, and even though the weather was crappy, that didn’t stop us from having a blast. I made her a bingo card for the weekend to celebrate her birthday—with some squares being activities I planned for us and other squares being chance-based, such as running into another person celebrating a birthday—and it was SO fun crossing items off throughout the weekend. We ended up getting a bingo by the time she left on Sunday!

clara sunwoo blouse work outfit spring style cropped flared jeans express red snakeskin sandals

Monday, April 15

I’ve shared this outfit before in my Mixing and Matching Clara Sunwoo Reel, but I think today may have been the first time I actually wore it. I love how the red snakeskin sandals tie into the pinkish colors of the blouse. This was day three of having my hair crimped with a waver tool—it always lasts so long, until I get it wet again. But I can’t get curls to last through the night! I don’t understand.

Blouse: Clara Sunwoo, gifted for collaboration, $115 ($57.50 per wear), last worn here | Cropped Flared Jeans: Express, $25 ($0.53 per wear), last worn here | Snakeskin Sandals: DSW, $30 ($2.14 per wear), last worn here

blue sweater brooches polka dot trousers work outfit black flats rothys

Tuesday, April 16

I don’t think I’ve ever worn this exact combination, but it was cute enough for work. I threw on a sparkly G pin and bumble bee collar broach to spice up the sweater a little. I decided to “crimp” my hair again by sleeping in two French braids, to compare and contrast the look when done with a hot tool and when done more naturally. The braided waves were a lot frizzier and looked less intentional—no surprise that I think the tool does it much better!

Sweater: Sundance Outlet, $45 ($2.81 per wear), last worn here | Polka Dot Pants: JCPenney, $19 ($0.68 per wear), last worn here | Black Flats: Rothy’s, $100 ($5.88 per wear)

spring work outfit button down jcpenney houndstooth pants blue flats dsw

Wednesday, April 17

Another new combo for me this week. I was just going to throw on my black Rothy’s again, but I told myself the blue flats (while less comfy) would be more stylish. I think that was the right decision—this outfit needed a little something to jazz it up!

Button-Down: JCPenney, $7 ($0.64 per wear), last worn here | Houndstooth Pants: JCPenney, $19 ($0.76 per wear), last worn here | Blue Flats: DSW, $5 ($0.15 per wear), last worn here

beige sweater green scarf grey straight leg jeans express beige booties shop lc

Thursday, April 18

It was 80 degrees last Sunday and felt like winter again today! Classic Colorado. I rarely wear brown and grey together but I think it worked in this ‘fit. I just don’t love the shoes with this outfit… the height of the booties and the length of the pants hit at exactly the same spot on my ankles, making it look a little awkward. I wouldn’t style this exact combo again but did get lots of compliments on my bright green scarf!

Sweater: Nordstrom Rack, $18 ($0.31 per wear), last worn here | Grey Jeans: Express, $19 ($0.32 per wear), last worn here | Booties: Shop LC, gifted for collaboration, $80 ($3.08 per wear), last worn here | Green Scarf: Unknown, $25 ($1.79 per wear), last worn here

brown pleather crop top going out look express peach cardigan ripped straight leg jeans cowgirl boots line dancing outfit

Friday, April 19

My friend arrived just before dinnertime, so after a couple of hours of cooking and catching up, we got dolled up for a night out. I took her to a nearby country bar that has live music and dancing. I’m a sucker for line dancing, and we both really enjoyed the music and atmosphere. It was the perfect vibe to debut my brown pleather top, but as anyone who has worn pleather knows, it is such a hot fabric. Not the best option for dancing, in hindsight!

Brown Pleather Crop Top: Express, $12 ($12 per wear) | Cardigan: Unknown, $30 ($0.64 per wear), last worn here | Jeans: Express, $14 ($0.43 per wear), last worn here | Cowgirl Boots: Ariat via Boot Barn, gift, $180 ($11.25 per wear), last worn here

beige turtleneck clara sunwoo cropped flared jeans leopard rain booties

Saturday, April 20

We spent the day exploring Ikea and brainstorming decorations for her new place, did a little shopping in downtown Littleton, and baked cookies in the afternoon. I think these cropped jeans look dumb with the rain booties, but I needed something warm enough to brave the snow while shopping—and the ripped jeans I wore on Friday just had too big of holes. (I briefly considered wearing tights under them but decided the tights would look weird through the rips.)

Sweater: Clara Sunwoo, gifted for collaboration, $149 ($14.90 per wear), last worn here | Jeans: Express, $40 ($0.57 per wear), last worn here | Rain Boots: Ralph Lauren via Macy’s, $60 ($0.78 per wear), last worn here

karaoke outfit black crop top teal faux fur jacket thrifted ripped straight leg jeans snakeskin sandals

Saturday, April 20, Continued

After another evening of dinner at home, my boyfriend and I took her to our favorite karaoke spot. It was kind of dead tonight, which was perfect because we each got two songs in before midnight! Unheard of.

I’ve worn this black crop top to karaoke a few times before—it’s a great go-to going out piece. I bought it on my last day in Scotland to wear to my sister-in-law’s bachelorette, which happened the night after I arrived back in the U.S.! Come to think of it, everything in this outfit aside from the jeans are pieces I bought in Scotland.

Black Crop Top: H&M, $15 ($1.25 per wear), last worn here | Faux Fur Jacket: Thrifted, $18 ($3.00 per wear), last worn here | Jeans: Express, $14 ($0.42 per wear), last worn here | Snakeskin Booties: Thrifted, $11 ($1.10 per wear), last worn here

navy and white vneck sweater cropped flared jeans express gap black booties vivaia

Sunday, April 21

The two of us got brunch this morning before she hit the road to drive home. After two late nights in a row, I desperately needed a nap! And then spent a couple of hours in the afternoon on a long walk because the weather had already warmed back up.

Sweater: Gap, $30 ($0.75 per wear), last worn here | Jeans: Express, $40 ($0.56 per wear), last worn here | Black Booties: Vivaia, gifted for collaboration, $140 ($2.50 per wear), last worn here

. . . . .

Which of this week’s looks is your favorite? I really like the brown crop top outfit. I had been envisioning it in my head for weeks and am excited it turned out just as cute on.

Miles of smiles,

Grace
